Rudo anejo WINS GOLD MEDAL at San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Double Eagle Imports Ltd, a Georgia-based importer and marketer of craft spirits, is pleased to announce that its artisanal tequila Rudo Anejo was awarded the Gold Medal at the 15th annual San Francisco World Spirits Competition in March of 2015.
This largest, most influential international annual spirits competition in America is considered to be the rite of passage for top quality spirits with 41 of renown spirits experts serving as judges. Continuing its tradition of record-breaking entries annually, the 15th San Francisco World Spirits Competition attracted 1,580 submissions from 41 states and 66 countries.

This is the second Gold Medal for Rudo Anejo; the brand is a recipient of the Gold Medal from the Spirits of Mexico competition in 2013 as well as the “Best of the Best” award from the tasting competition hosted by Tequila.net – the largest online community of tequila aficionados and industry experts. The distribution footprint of tequila Rudo currently includes 15 states and consumers can find the brand in all Total Wine & More locations nationwide that carry distilled spirits.
Rudo is small-batch, super-premium artisanal tequila handcrafted from 100% Highlands Blue Agave at the family-owned and operated distillery located in Jalisco, Mexico. Time-honored, labor-intensive production techniques include slow baking of ripe agave hearts in traditional stone ovens and natural fermentation. Tequila Rudo Anejo is double distilled in small pot stills and barrel aged in American oak for 18 months. Extended maturation period results in luxuriously smooth tequila with intense and charming agave flavor.
Brand concept of tequila Rudo is based on Lucha Libre, a style of professional wrestling that originated in Mexico in the beginning of the 20th century. Since that time, Lucha Libre has grown into a huge international phenomenon that influences modern art, music and pop culture.
